Gilmore is a suburb in the Tuggeranong district of Canberra. The postcode is 2905. The suburb is named after the poet and journalist, Dame Mary Gilmore. Streets are named after journalists, especially female journalists. It is next to the suburbs of Macarthur and Chisholm and is bounded by the Monaro Highway, Isabella Drive and Hambidge Crescent. There is no local shop but the Chisholm Shopping Centre is close by (walking distance). The centre comprises a large supermarket, butcher, baker, greengrocer, chemist, eating establishments, Doctor, Dentist and various other businesses.
